Basic Principles of Critical Care

This training was developed to serve as a refresher course for ICU care teams - including nurses and medical officers - caring for critically ill patients in an ICU setting in Kenya. Course content covers the core concepts of critical care from pain management to total nursing care, nutritional support to documentation. This course can be taken in full as a comprehensive refresher, or learners can opt in to specific modules for a more focused learning experience. The concepts are broadly applicable beyond the Kenyan setting. However, the content and activities must be locally adapted based the recommendations and guidelines of each unique setting.
